YouTube Pitches Advertisers 86% Higher ROI at NewFronts, Urges Brands to Shift Budgets from TikTok and Meta
At its 2026 NewFronts presentation at Pier 57 in New York, YouTube claimed its platform delivers 86% higher ROI than TikTok and Meta, citing joint Kantar research, and pushed brands to reallocate social budgets toward creator content on YouTube. Google VP Kristen O'Hara rolled out a three-step framework called 'Bring, Build, Boost,' encouraging brands to repurpose existing social ads via Google generative AI tools and scale through the newly renamed YouTube Creator Partnerships platform. A GWI study cited by YouTube found that 45% of Shorts viewers are not on TikTok and 65% are not on Instagram Reels. An Agentio-cited figure shows 40% of views on YouTube sponsored content arrive more than 30 days after upload.

Wasserman's Talent Division, Rebranded as The Team, Enters Formal $1B-Plus Sale Process; PE Expected to Win Over CAA or UTA
The Team, the talent representation arm recently rebranded from Wasserman, has entered a formal bidding window with WME, CAA, UTA, Range Media Partners, Goldman Sachs, and multiple private equity firms among the interested parties. The deal is expected to be valued above $1 billion. Variety reports that a wholesale acquisition by CAA or UTA looks unlikely due to antitrust concerns and client roster complexity, making private equity the more probable buyer. A PE outcome would preserve The Team's operational independence. The Montag Group, a division of The Team, represents broadcast talent including Mike Tirico, Jim Nantz, Scott Van Pelt, and James Brown.
Former Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin Signs With The Montag Group for Broadcast and Network Representation
Mike Tomlin has signed with The Montag Group -- a division of The Team (formerly Wasserman) -- for broadcast and television representation. Agent Alex Flanagan, a former NBC Sports and NFL Network anchor, led the signing and will manage day-to-day representation, with Sandy Montag also on the account. Montag's existing roster includes Mike Tirico, Jim Nantz, Scott Van Pelt, James Brown, and Dick Vitale. Tomlin finished his Steelers tenure at 193-114-2 with no losing seasons in 19 years, and open seats at CBS's NFL Today and potentially NBC make him among the most in-demand coaching names entering broadcast.

TikTok and Cameo Partner to Embed Personalized Fan Video Requests Directly Inside the App
TikTok and Cameo announced today that Cameo's personalized video request system is now embedded inside the TikTok app for U.S. creators. Creators can add call-to-action buttons to their TikTok content directing fans to request Cameo videos without leaving the platform. TikTok users can also search 'Cameo' inside the app to browse all participating creators. Cameo CEO Steven Galanis said TikTok creators had their strongest year on the platform in 2025 and that the integration is designed to give creators 'a simpler way to grow their business, deepen audience engagement, and unlock new revenue opportunities.'

At its 2026 NewFronts presentation, Snapchat announced Total Snap Takeover -- a format that places a brand's ad as the first content users see when opening any tab -- and Offers, a beta format that embeds IRL promotions directly inside Snap ads. Snap President of Americas Mary Ann Belliveau said the platform 'creates a uniquely attentive environment for brands.' YouTube Opens Shopping Affiliate Program to Channels With 500-Plus Subscribers, Expanding Creator Commerce Pool
YouTube expanded its Shopping affiliate program to U.S. creators with as few as 500 subscribers, down significantly from the prior 10,000-subscriber threshold. The move is part of CEO Neal Mohan's 2026 plan to make YouTube a premier shopping destination where viewers buy products without leaving the app. YouTube is also developing a connected TV shopping feature that lets television viewers scan an embedded QR code to purchase products on their phone. TikTok Shop crossed quarterly revenue comparable to eBay in late 2025, and YouTube's expansion is a direct competitive response to that growth.

Suno Releases v5.5 With Voice Capture Feature That Lets Users Create Songs in Their Own Voice
AI music generator Suno released version 5.5, adding a voice capture tool called 'Voices' for Pro and Premier subscribers that records or uploads a user's singing voice and uses it to generate tracks. A verification layer matches a captured voice to a prompted random phrase before activating. A second feature, 'Custom Models,' lets Pro and Premier subscribers train a version of v5.5 on their own catalog to generate music in their personal style, with up to three custom models per account. Suno faces an active RIAA lawsuit over training data filed in mid-2024 on behalf of all three major labels, while competitor Udio has already settled separately with both Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
