YouTube star Alejo Igoa signs with WME after 120M subscribers and Buenos Aires arena run
Variety reported that Argentine YouTube creator Alejo Igoa signed with WME for worldwide representation. Igoa has 120 million YouTube subscribers and had not previously been represented by an agency. WME will work on touring, media, digital content, brand partnerships, books, ventures and licensing. Igoa's channel centers on high-energy family-friendly challenges, pranks and experiments, with his top video passing 136 million views. In April, he made his live show debut with El Show de Alejo Igoa, selling more than 70,000 tickets across seven sold-out shows at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.
THE BREAKDOWN
WME is treating Igoa as a global franchise, not only a YouTube account. Agents representing top digital talent should package touring, licensing, publishing, brand partnerships and format rights together, then decide which rights stay separate before a major agency or studio enters the picture. The 70,000-ticket arena run is the number to use when arguing that creator audiences can convert into live revenue outside the U.S. Brand managers should price Spanish-language creator partnerships against live demand and international reach, not only domestic CPMs. For talent without representation, Igoa's path shows why clean ownership of formats and audience data matters before agency talks start.
