WME signs Meg Donnelly as acting and music converge

Source: The Hollywood ReporterFull story →

Meg Donnelly has signed with WME for representation in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Donnelly is an actress and singer-songwriter who broke out through ABC's American Housewife and Disney Channel's Zombies films. She made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! and released her debut EP Dying Art last year. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Donnelly signed with Range Music in 2024. As of publication, she had about 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

THE BREAKDOWN

All-area representation only works when each vertical has its own economics. Agents should keep music, Broadway, streaming, social and brand partnership fees visible so one side of the business does not subsidize another. A client with 2.5 million monthly Spotify listeners can justify music-led brand pricing even when the buyer first knows her from screen work. Brand managers should ask which audience they are buying because family entertainment, theater and music fans may behave differently. Contract language should also protect release windows, soundtrack usage and paid social rights around new projects.
