UTA elevates seven creator agents and expands its sports focus

Source: The Hollywood ReporterFull story →

UTA has promoted seven agents in its Creators division, which the agency says tripled its revenue over the past five years. The promotions include Beth Hatchett, Ike Zhang, Nicole Lonner, Rebecca Bibb, Sarah Mathews, Scarlett Perlman and Shelby Schenkman. They will report to A.J. Leone, Mahzad Babayan, Rebecca Steinberg and Ty Flynn. Their work includes expanding creators into new businesses and developing the agency's New York and UK operations. UTA also named collaboration with Klutch Sports on sports creators as a focus.

THE BREAKDOWN

For a sports creator weighing representation, ask which named agent will own the commercial plan and who can bring in athlete-side opportunities. Get specific examples of joint work across the creator and sports teams before accepting a cross-division sales pitch. Define which business lines the agreement covers and when the agency earns commission. If the plan includes new territories, identify the local seller and reporting cadence. UTA's revenue growth is the agency's own claim, not a disclosed earnings statement.
