TikTok's North America Head of Global Business Khartoon Weiss Is Out Friday
TikTok's North America head of global business solutions Khartoon Weiss is leaving the company on April 9, according to an internal memo shared with Digiday. Weiss, who spent nearly six years at TikTok, told clients in the memo she is pursuing a new opportunity and that the platform would ensure continuity on existing priorities. U.S. country lead Joshua Bloom and Canadian lead Nik Djukic remain in their roles while TikTok conducts a search for her replacement. TikTok did not respond to requests for comment.
THE BREAKDOWN
Losing the North America head of global business creates a leadership gap at the platform's most critical commercial moment, following the U.S.-China deal that kept TikTok in the country earlier this year. Brand partnership managers who built relationships with Weiss now need to rebuild those at the country level with Bloom or Djukic. For creators and agents in active TikTok deal negotiations, the absence of a centralized business lead could slow approvals and deal escalations until a replacement is named. This is at least the second high-profile commercial departure from TikTok's business side recently, which may affect the platform's ability to compete for brand budgets against more stable organizations.
