Peacock tests a subscriber rewards program as streamers chase retention and partner revenue

Source: VarietyFull story →

Variety reports that NBCUniversal's Peacock launched a limited beta test of a membership rewards program for randomly selected Premium and Premium Plus subscribers. The program offers NBCU benefits, partner offers, exclusive experiences, merchandise discounts, and food perks such as free pizzas. NBCU framed the test as a way to add value for subscribers and build deeper ties to fandoms tied to Peacock programming. The move follows Disney+ Perks and comes after Peacock posted its first quarterly profit in Q2 2026. Peacock had 48 million paid subscribers at the end of June after adding 2 million net subscribers during the quarter.

THE BREAKDOWN

Streaming perks are becoming sponsor inventory, and talent can be part of that bundle. Agents should ask whether show hosts, reality casts, podcasters, or athletes are being used in rewards programs, sweepstakes, fan events, or partner offers. If a streamer wants a creator to drive retention, the contract should price that as subscriber value, not only promotion. Brand teams should watch these perks because they create direct access to paid entertainment audiences without a standard ad buy. Talent attached to fandom-heavy shows should push for approval rights, incremental fees, and data on campaign performance.
