Depop plans more than 2,000 campus events with paid ambassadors
Depop plans more than 2,000 campus events over the next 12 weeks through its paid Campus Manager program, Glossy reported. The resale platform has expanded its campus presence to more than 300 colleges since 2024 and received 7,000 applications for 600 ambassador openings this fall. Campus Managers host listing parties and seller coaching sessions, and share student feedback with Depop. The company also plans to launch its first Depop After Class campus tour in Austin on November 6, before stops in Fullerton and Berkeley later in the month. Depop's marketing lead said the company was recruiting its spring 2027 Campus Managers.
THE BREAKDOWN
Pitch campus creators for event production and seller education as paid work, with compensation separate from their social posts. Ask who pays venue expenses and how the brand will handle cancellations before accepting a campus brief. Agree on whether the brand can reuse student footage in advertising and secure participant permissions before filming. For performance reporting, track first listings and subsequent seller activity rather than treating attendance as a purchase. Representatives with student talent should check spring recruitment requirements now and confirm that the workload fits the creator's academic schedule.
