Colin and Samir's Adobe-backed fund awards $25,000 for a creator documentary

Source: DigidayFull story →

Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry have launched the Big Idea Fund with Adobe to finance projects from their creator community. They awarded Jackson Hughens a $25,000 grant for a five-part YouTube documentary about a family adopting five children with Down syndrome. Hughens had just over 670 YouTube subscribers when Digiday reported the award. Creators submitted more than 150 projects, and Adobe requires participants to use its editing tools. The partners have not disclosed the wider agreement's financial terms.

THE BREAKDOWN

Bring sponsors a defined series concept when a creator needs production funding that a single sponsored post cannot cover. Include an episode plan and distribution proposal alongside the audience numbers. Ask who owns the finished series and who can approve later distribution. Spell out whether the sponsor receives a credit or an endorsement, and price any additional promotional deliverables. A required software tool also belongs in the production scope before the creator commits.
